Business BARBADOS PHILATELIC BUREAU
the philatelic bureau

The Barbados Philatelic Bureau is an integral entity within the Barbados Postal Service providing a range of services to its customers. The Bureau began its operations in 1968 with a small staff of two. This has now increased to nine (9).

The growing demand of Philatelists for Barbados’ stamps over the last three decades and our strong presence in the marketplace has resulted in the Bureau’s expansion.

Supplying customers locally and in every spectrum of the globe through our standing and non-standing order accounts in a timely and efficient manner has been one of our major accomplishments to date.

Some customers prefer to mail in their orders, while others prefer our over the counter services. Regular visitors to the island welcome our walk-in policy and make the Bureau’s visit a must during their holidays.

The Barbados Philatelic Bureau has a preference for quality and so produces only four to six commemorative issues yearly and a definitive issue every four to five years. Each issue is represented with a set of stamps and a First Day cover or a Souvenir sheet, which is optional.

Over the years, our stamps have featured local birds, flora and fauna, culture, ships, religion, sports, architecture, anniversaries, as well as world-wide events and topical issues.

Barbadian stamps are exhibited at many international exhibitions in U.S.A., U.K. Japan, and Canada either by our staff members or through our agency representatives; the Crown Agent Stamp Bureau, Inter-American Governmental Philatelic Agency or British Overseas Philatelic Agency.

Satisfying our customers’ needs is foremost in our minds, and so we have upgraded and improved our web-site to facilitate on-line shopping, enquiries and e-commerce requests.
