Local Money Orders
Money orders can be purchased from any Post Office on the island and posted domestically and regionally to anyone with access to a Post Office. It is a secure, cashable document and a safe, worry-free way to send money to a family member locally or children studying abroad.
For Local money orders $500.00 (BBD) is the maximum amount that can be sent at one time.
Persons wishing to have Money Orders collected on their behalf must give written authorisation, on the reverse side of the Money Order. Please note that the bearer is required to present their own identification as well as the identification of the beneficiary.
Identification accepted by the post office:
- National Identification Card
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Valid Passport
Example of Authorisation:
John Smith is requesting Ms. Jenny Holder to collect his Money Order. How should the authorisation be given?

International Money Orders
International money orders are sent regionally, throughout the Caribbean to most of the islands. However, money Orders cannot be sent to: Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana.
The maximum that can be posted at one time is $500.00 (E.C. ).
