Our online Customs Declaration System (CDS) will be streamlined to make the customs clearance procedure more efficient and user friendly, when mailing overseas.
A person wishing to copyright a document must place the document in a sealed envelope and request the Registered Mail Service. This service is provided at any of our post offices across the island.
The envelope must bear the name and address of the copyright holder as the “addressee”.
The customer should keep the receipt and ensure that when the item is delivered to them, it remains sealed.
This envelope should not be opened but kept in a safe place and presented to the court, unopened, in the event it is believed that their copyright is being infringed.
The Barbados Postal Service offers a redirect mail service to Domestic & Commercial/Business customers. Individuals are advised to complete a redirection form when moving from one address to another. This service is offered to facilitate the accurate delivery of mail whenever possible, therefore avoiding the delivery of mail to an address where a customer no longer resides.
The cost for this service is BDS$13.00 for Domestic customers and BDS$30.00 for businesses.
For domestic customers, all persons over the age of sixteen years old, residing in the same household must write their names and sign the redirection form in the spaces provided. However, the person submitting the form and making the payment in person, is required to have their name as the primary applicant affixed to the top of the form, signed & dated.
For businesses, in the space for: ‘name of applicant’ , the name of the business written in capitals along with the company stamp (which must have a signature).
Please note that forms cannot be back dated for this service. The date written on the form must be the day of submission (once the customer has already moved) OR a future date (if the customer is in the process of moving or hasn’t moved as yet)
The Advice of Delivery Service provides the customer with the signature of the person who receives the mail item.
Customers are required to complete the Advice of Delivery form when using this service which is only available when using a recorded service such as Registered, Parcel and Express Service.
The service can be used for both local and international mail
